This is a very simple, easy to prepare bread recipe
Prep time: 2 hours
Cook time: 30 min
Total time: 2 hours 30 min
Yield: 2 loaves
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1/2 tbsp Salt
- 1 tbsp. Granulated sugar
- 1/4 oz. Instant yeast
- 2 cups Warm water
- 3 cups approximately All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Flax seeds
- 1 tsp. Melted butter or hard margarine
Directions:
1.) Combine the first amount of flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl.
2.) Add warm water and cooking oil. Â Stir to moisten. Â Cover with a tea towel and set in warm place (for example, the oven with the light on and door closed) for 10 minutes.
3.) Add flax seeds and work in enough of the remaining flour until dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Â At this point, the dough will still be very sticky. Â Grease your hands and turn out the dough onto a floured surface. Â Knead for 8 to 10 minutes until dough is smooth and elastic. Â Put the dough in a greased bowl. Â Turn the dough a few times so that it all gets greased. Â Cover with a tea towel and put in a warm place for for about 1 hour (or until doubled in size).
4.) Punch the dough down. Â Divide into two portions. Â Shape each portion into loaves and place into loaf pans or onto a baking sheet. Â Cover the loaves with a tea towel and put in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
5.) Bake in 400°F oven for 20 to 25 minutes.  Put on racks to cool.
6.) Brush the tops of the warm loaves with melted butter.
