About this Blog:

What are the ingredients that make up our favourite foods? Why do we use them? Why do we cook the way we do? Is the food we eat good for us? Are there better alternatives?

These are the questions I ask myself and as time goes by, I’ll try to come up with some satisfactory answers.

I’m not a doctor or nutritionist or farmer, but I’ll do my best. Hopefully my posts will be useful. At the very least, I hope we can share some good recipes.

Have fun cooking.

  1. We have been eating a lot of rice lately., but the only rice I know how to buy is long grain white rice or brown rice. I noticed in the grocery store that there are many more varieties but I do not know if they are meant for a specific recipe. We had rice at a popular restaurant the other night and the rice was firm large kernels. Can you explain the different varieties and their uses and if they are cooked differently.
